Barhee Dates

Dates progress through five stages of ripeness after pollination but only some varieties can be eaten at the khalal (early ripening) stage. Our khalal barhee dates are crunchy and juicy (the consistency is sometimes compared to a nashi pear) with the sweet caramel flavours of a dried date. They are delicious by themselves and can also be used in unique deserts and salads. Khalal barhee dates are also special as they are highly seasonal – we only expect to have our fresh barhees for sale until the end of March.
